Bring Back Biblical Girlhood

September 21st, 2011

Parents around the world were recently shocked to see pictures in the UK Daily Mail online of girls, some as young as eight, dressed in red and black lingerie performing a racy dance routine to Beyonce's "All the Single Ladies" at a dance contest. Yet even more shocking, was that the parents of the girls involved approved.

Other examples are just as alarming. A Skechers' "naughty and nice" ad featured pop star Christina Aguilera dressed as a schoolgirl in pigtails, with her shirt unbuttoned, licking a lollipop. Bratz and Barbie dolls come dressed in sexualized clothing such as miniskirts, fishnet stockings, and feather boas. Thongs sized for 7 to 10-year-olds, are printed with slogans such as "wink, wink". T-shirts for girls display slogans such as "hot chick" and "boyfriend material".

In the movie and TV series Hannah Montana, very popular amoungst tweens and teens, the heroine Miley, leads a double life as pop star Hannah Montana. As per usual, she has the perfect body and hooks a "cool" boyfriend in the end.

The Value of the Blood of Jesus Christ

September 3rd, 2011

We have been bought by his blood (Acts 20:28).
Our sins are atoned for through the shedding of his blood (Romans 3:25).
We are justified by his blood (Romans 5:9).
We have redemption, the forgiveness of sins through his blood (Ephesians 1:7).
We are brought near to God by the blood of Christ (Ephesians 2:13).
We have peace with God through his blood (Colossians 1:20).
We have eternal redemption by his blood (Hebrews 9:12).
It is the blood of Christ that will cleanse our consciences from acts that lead to death (Hebrews 9:14).
We have confidence to enter the presence of God by the blood of Jesus (Hebrews 10:19).

Does it help to be more positive?

September 3rd, 2011

"Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!"  Isaiah 5:20 (KJV)

Positivite or negaitive – focusing on the “good” not the “bad” and Truth –

It doesn’t have anything to do with positivity or negativity. It has to do with Truth.
The truth is many times more negative than positive.

GET THIS: God doesn’t want us to focus on  positivity or negativity, God wants us to live in truth!!!

Our focus should not be on positive things but on truth. If things are not positive but true and we concentrate on positivity then we will come to the place where truth is rejected and even ignored or worse exchanged for a lie! And that is a dangerous place to be in before God.

Thoughts on the Christian Life 2

September 3rd, 2011

It is easier to speak against a thousand sins of others, than to mortify ONE sin in ourselves....

It is easier to smell another  person’s bad breath than to detect your own!  Sin is a master deceiver, it will let you see and detect the sins of others but let yours go undetected, unnoticed and untouched! The deception of  sin will let you speak of other people’s sin while doing the very same thing only it will not bring it home or sound the alarm in your own conscience! BE AWARE, SIN DECEIVES

Is your profession enough?

September 3rd, 2011

It is not enough to just believe (Titus 1:16; James 2:19-20; Matthew 21:28-30), for that is the same as just hearing and not doing (Luke 6:46-49).

If you were dead in your sins (Ephesians 2:1), and are now made alive by the Holy Spirit (Colossians 2:13), your life Will change (2 Corinthians 5:17; Romans 6:12-16). Being saved by grace, does not mean that you must do nothing (Ephesians 2:10), for grace is the desire and power to do the will of God (1 Corinthians 15:10; 1 Thessalonians 1:3), not just a cover up of your sins (Titus 2:11-13; 2 Corinthians 12:9).

Do you have this Future and Hope?

September 3rd, 2011

"For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the LORD, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope..." Jeremiah 29:11

This passage is taken by so many people to mean that God wants to give us everything here - for many it has to do with this life. This is not the case, God is much more concern with our eternity than with our present.

The parallel Scripture of this Scripture in the New Testament is 2 Peter 3:9, which states "God does not want any to perish but that all should come to repentance."
